Funeral prayer card for Joseph Grimmelsman, 1853-1918. The front of the card contains a photograph of Father Grimmelsman. The back of the card contains biographical information and a prayer for the repose of his soul. This card was made by an unknown publisher. Grimmelsman was president of Xavier University, (Cincinnati, Ohio) from 1908-1911.

Joseph Grimmelsman, S.J. Born March 17, 1853 Entered the Society of Jesus Aug. 9, 1871 Died December 20, 1918 "We have loved him in life, let us not forget him after death." - St. Ambrose. Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine. - 300 days Indulgence. Let Us Pray O God, who among the apostolic priests did honor thy servant Joseph with the sacerdotal dignity, grant, we beseech, thee, that he may also be united to their everlasting society. Through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen. My Jesus, mercy. - 100 days Indulgence. Sweet heart of Jesus. I implore that I may ever love thee more and more. - 300 days Indulgence. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him! May he rest in peace. Amen.
