Abstract
The importance of this research has to do with the competitive balance within the sport of Formula 1. This project looks specifically at the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team. Interest lies in the future popularity of the sport and its relationship with competitive balance. The main question this research addresses is what factors affect the competitive balance within Formula 1. Methodology involves conducting analysis on multiple variables to see which ones have the biggest effect on the result of the team. Looking closely at this kind of data may introduce potential fixes, additions, or regulations to the sport for the future. The research looks at factors such as design leadership, tire implementation, driver talent, etc. This work adds to the larger body of research because it utilizes multiple variables which affect all teams in Formula 1 while also looking at Scuderia Ferrari’s results spanning 19 years.
